Details stay with the order.
Drawing revision, material grade, coating requirement and acceptance criteria form one agreed specification. If one of them changes, the specification changes.
Buyer’s checklistQUALITY
The useful quality plan is a short list of evidence, tied to a revision. It is not a slogan on the last page of a quotation.

Drawing revision, material grade, coating requirement and acceptance criteria form one agreed specification. If one of them changes, the specification changes.
Buyer’s checklistGrade, standard and coating are named. Mill documents are requested when your market or your client needs them, and they refer to the heat or lot actually used.
Critical dimensions are marked before the sample is made. The first article is accepted, accepted with deviations, or rejected in writing.
Batch checks, identification and the packing method are defined before shipment, including who may witness them.
Certificates and test reports are confirmed for the selected factory, product and order scope. A document issued to a factory is not reissued as a RIBSPAN certificate.
SPECIFICATION
Someone who was not in the email thread should be able to read the specification and know what to make. That means the drawing number and revision, the file that wins if two files disagree, the material standard, the finish, the quantity, the critical dimensions, the sample decision and the packing method.
Keep commercial terms next to it, not inside the geometry: price validity, Incoterms, and the event that starts the lead time. Mixing “FOB Qingdao” into a bend note helps no one.
Say which of these you need. The others are not silently included.
A mill certificate, when requested, should show the grade, the standard, the heat and the dimensions or product form. A generic letter that the factory “uses quality steel” is not that document.
A first-article record lists the critical features, the instrument or method, the result and the decision. Checking every dimension on every piece is a different, slower scope. Ask for it only when the risk justifies it.
If you require a standard — for example a hot-dip specification you already use — name it. Thickness, repair of cut edges and masked threads are then part of the quotation. An unnamed “galvanized finish” will be clarified before it is promised.
Your inspector or a third party can be invited to a named point: first article, coating, or pre-shipment. The date, the access and the cost of waiting are agreed in advance.
Part number, revision and batch should survive unpacking. Stamp, tag or label is a choice. Adhesive labels fail in heat, rain and galvanizing. Say what the site can still read.
Photos can show marking, packing and obvious damage. They do not replace a dimensional record. Ask for both if you need both, and say how many cartons must appear.
LIMITS
RIBSPAN will not confirm a structural load, a pile capacity or a coating life from a photograph. Those conclusions need geometry, material, the connection, the environment and, for piles, the ground. If your client needs a stamped calculation, that engineer has to be in the project. We can fabricate to the drawing that engineer releases.
We will also not copy a factory’s certificate onto this website and describe it as ours. If you need to see a document’s scope, ask for it against the order. The legal entity, the product and the dates have to match the shipment you are buying.
