PROCESS

A clear route from drawing to delivery.

Four steps, one commercial contact. The point of the route is to make the open questions visible before steel is cut, not after a container is booked.

01 · Define

You send the drawing or sample, the quantity, the application and the destination. We return the missing dimensions and the technical questions.

02 · Resolve

Material, tolerance, finish and process are checked with the cooperating factory. The quotation states tooling, sample cost, quantity, packing and trade terms.

03 · Approve

The sample is compared with one drawing revision. Accepted changes are written down. That pair is the specification for repeat production.

04 · Deliver

Batch checks, part marks, packing and the documents agreed for the order. Shipment follows the delivery requirement in the quotation.

01 · YOUR INPUT

Every good part starts with a clear brief.

A complete first message is shorter than a long one that omits the revision. Include the file, the quantity, the market and the date you need the parts. If the date is a tender date rather than a site date, say that. The two dates produce different answers.

Use the drawing checklist or the form on the project brief page. The form prepares a text file in your browser. It does not upload the drawing. You attach the original file when you send the email or the WhatsApp message.

What you should receive next

  • A question listMissing units, clashes between PDF and CAD, finish words that can mean more than one process.
  • A family checkWhether the part is a bracket, a mounting component, a pile piece or an assembly.
  • A stop, if neededIf the file cannot be priced, we say what is missing instead of issuing a number that will move.

02 · TECHNICAL REVIEW

Define the details that drive the cost.

The cooperating factory confirms how the part would be cut, formed, joined and finished. That review is allowed to say a radius is too tight, a hole is too close to a bend, or a coating cannot be applied after a thread is cut. Those comments are manufacturability, not a redesign.

Your engineer still owns structural acceptance, pile capacity and any code stamp the destination requires. If a third-party inspector must visit, name them before the price is frozen. A witness point added after production has started is a new commercial event.

Lines a quotation should show

  • ToolingProgramming, fixtures or dies, and whether they are yours after payment.
  • SampleQuantity, price, and what the sample is allowed to decide.
  • Unit priceAt a named quantity, material, finish and revision.
  • PackingMethod, and whether it is export-worthy or still local.
  • TermsIncoterms, validity, and the lead time counted from an agreed start.

03 · SAMPLE APPROVAL

Check once. Then repeat against that record.

The sample is inspected against the revision in the quotation, not against memory. Critical dimensions are the ones you marked. Ordinary dimensions follow the drawing tolerance. If you accept a deviation, it is written onto the specification. If you reject it, the correction is a new sample or a documented rework, not a verbal note to “watch it next time”.

Batch production starts after that decision. A later email that changes a hole does not silently update the order. It is a revision, with a new date and, often, a new price.

The lock contains

  • IdentityDrawing number and revision, plus the sample’s identification.
  • ResultAccepted, accepted with listed deviations, or rejected.
  • FinishThe coating actually seen, if the sample was finished.
  • PhotosEnough to recognise the part, not a substitute for dimensions.

04 · ORDER COORDINATION

Protect the part on the way to site.

Delivery coordination covers the checks you asked for, the marks on the parts, the packing method and the papers that travel with the shipment. A packing list should be readable against the order lines. Mixed kits need the kit quantity, not only the total piece count.

Lead time is counted from the start named in the quotation: approved sample, received payment, or released drawing. It is not counted from the first introductory email. Trade terms say who books the freight and where risk moves. They are agreed per shipment.

Papers to request on purpose

  • Always usefulCommercial invoice and a packing list that matches the marks.
  • When specifiedMaterial certificate, coating record, inspection photos, third-party report.
  • Not assumedA certificate of origin, a test report, or a document issued to a different company.

Packing choices are expanded in the export packing guide.
